What is ceremonial Cacao?

So – what’s up with the cacao? We use a special type of cacao, called ceremonial Cacao and only the original brand, Keith’s Cacao. Basically is whole, wild- and organically grown cacao beans, that are fermented and ground up. Nothing removed and nothing added.

The intentions is to draw benefits from the lightly psychoactive chemicals in this cacao that relaxes us, lowers muscle tension and blood pressure, clears our mind and moves us towards a state of heartfelt joy.

Sometimes we add Cacao in our NIT/TRE, Soma sessions and events like Awaken. We usually start by enjoying a mug of cacao while receiving some good information or just reflecting together. Then we follow up with other activities like NIT/TRE, Soma, inner journeys, guided meditations, etc.

Cacao Benefits

1
Keith’s Cacao will facilitate ease, enhance the experience and bring forth your personal brand of magic!
2
Cacao is a powerful superfood that offers a boost of energy without the crash of modern stimulating beverages.
3
Keith’s Cacao cuts through the mental clutter, enhancing focus and concentration while enabling you to hear your heart.
4
And our cacao does all of this while creating a gentle state of euphoria that makes everything seem brighter and more fun.

Preparing Cacao

Finely chop Cacao from the block, ca 28 gram per person. Add water (we like almond milk), honey and spices.

Warm carefully, never boil and stir until smooth. Serve and enjoy!

Avoid using cow’s milk here because it reduces the effect of the antioxidants in the cacao. Otherwise we are great fans of cow’s milk.

How to drink it?

Slowly - Experience - Enjoy

Use all your senses, feel the heat of the cup, absorb the aroma, hold you intention in you mind and heart.

Sip it and enjoy the flavor, drink it slowly, feel it in your body and become aware of how you respond, Enjoy!

How to get Cacao

You are welcome to join our sessions and share Cacao and enjoy the events with us. We share cacao in some of our NIT/TRE sessions, Soma Breath sessions and Awaken programs. It will be posted in our calendar and newsletter when we do.

Important Cacao and Health Information

Cacao is bitter

100% pure cacao is bitter. As with any bitter, too much can make you nauseous. Most drink less than 2 to 3 ounces (57 to 85 grams) of cacao a day. Over time, as your body attunes to the cacao, you may find that you need less cacao to feel the full effect. Less can be more. Pay attention to what your body is telling you.

Antidepressants

Depending on dose, SSRI antidepressants and anti-psychotics are not compatible with the MAOI’s (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) in cacao. Low to average doses should be ok, people on higher doses should drink less cacao. Check with your doctor.

Heart Rate

Our cacao will raise your heart rate slightly. If an increase in your heart rate could cause a medical problem, drink less. Check with your doctor.

Blood Pressure

Many folks with low blood pressure tell Keith that our cacao (low-caffeine) stabilizes their heart and helps them. Check with your doctor.

Other substances

Our cacao increases blood flow to the brain by 30-40%… so any other substances in your blood will be amplified.

Caffeine

Keith is often asked by people with a caffeine intolerance if they can use cacao. The caffeine content of cacao varies widely amongst cacao varieties and cacao makers. Most find our cacao to have a very low, to no-caffeine feel.

Children

Use less, according to the child’s body weight. It depends on the child. They will let you know. Children who have had an appropriate amount of cacao are more focused.

Pets

Real cacao contains compounds that can kill dogs, cats, parrots, and horses. Don’t let them eat it!
