The Integrated Human Blog

Welcome to The Integrated Human blog. Here, we explore the journey of holistic well-being by integrating mind, body, and spirit.

Stress is not just a feeling — it is a physical state. When you are under pressure, your nervous system shifts into high alert, your breathing becomes shallow and rapid, and your body floods with stress hormones.
Most of us never think about how we breathe at night. We fall asleep and assume the body takes care of itself. But for a significant number of people, sleep involves mouth breathing — and mouth breathing, it turns out, is one of the quieter saboteurs of sleep quality, energy levels, and even long-term health.
Poor sleep is one of the most common complaints I hear in my practice. People lie down exhausted but cannot switch off. Some are kept awake by a busy mind, others by the body — not finding a comfortable position, or a sense of unease that will not settle.
This article is not telling you to stop taking blood pressure medication — let your doctor evaluate that. What I am inviting you to do is start changing how you breathe. You have to breathe anyway, so why not do it in a way that actively supports your health?
Chronic pain affects millions of people worldwide. Whether it stems from injury, accumulated stress, or long-held muscle tension, it can quietly erode your quality of life in ways that are hard to explain to others.
In the tremor mechanism, which is at the heart of Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE), lies a profound experience that transcends mere physical practice; it beckons individuals to embark on a journey inward, to explore the depths of their own being and tap into the vast cosmos that resides within.
