The vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body — running from your brainstem through your throat, heart, lungs, and gut. It is the primary highway of your parasympathetic nervous system — the calming nervous system. The brake pedal that is supposed to bring you back to calm and safety.

Most people have never been taught how to press it.

In this 90–120 minute online workshop, Siv Jøssang Shields — chiropractor of 30 years and breathwork facilitator — guides you through the science and the practice of vagal reset. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of why you feel stuck in stress, and a set of immediately usable tools to flip the switch.

What you'll learn

The science, made human: The vagus nerve, vagal tone, and Heart Rate Variability — why your resilience is measurable, and why it’s trainable.

  • Humming and chanting — your voice as direct vagal medicine

The Integrated Breath Session: A guided 25-minute breathwork journey that brings together the mechanics of correct breathing (WS1), the CO₂ physiology (WS2), and the vagal reset tools of this workshop (WS3) — into one embodied experience. Inside the session you’ll feel the coherence rhythm (5–6 breaths per minute) — the breath pattern that produces the highest known vagal stimulation available through breath alone. In Workshop 4 we explain what is happening between your heart and your brain. Here, you feel it first.

Siv is an experienced chiropractor for 30 years with thousands of patient consultations with pain, tension and stress often originating in old trauma. Since 2010, Siv has guided countless individuals and groups worldwide through neurogenic tremoring, both in person and online.

Siv brings expertise in Breath Work, Hypnotherapy, Brainwave Entrainment, HeartMath, and trauma-informed facilitation. Her teaching style is warm, clear, and grounded in deep respect for the body’s wisdom. She also has a B.A in Biology and a MS in Physiology.
